Enter photos taken between now and Friday, Feb. 7 in the following categories: Carthage school spirit, hands-on experiences, and nature.

Submission guidelines:

To enter, send an email to bridge@yilunjianshe.com and attach a high-quality photo (1MB+). If the video file is large, upload it to Google Drive and share it with bridge@yilunjianshe.com. Only one entry per category.

Include in the email (only complete entries will be considered):

  • Your name, grad year
  • Category
  • Name of the 2025 J-Term course
  • Names of Carthage students/faculty in the photo
  • Location and a brief description of what is happening in the photo

More about the categories:

Carthage J-Term school spirit: This category shows students (on-campus or on a study tour) wearing Carthage spirit wear or with the Carthage banner.

Best hands-on experience photo:
J-Term offers an opportunity for students to immerse themselves in unique learning and cultural experiences. Show field experiences, fun experiments, and interacting with people.

Best nature photo: These photos show beautiful landscapes, animals, and nature.

What judges are looking for:

Judges are looking for photos that tell a story. Move in close to focus on facial expressions, capture special J-Term memories, show Firebirds learning here in Kenosha or around the world.

But wait, there’s more!

There are two other fun ways for faculty and students to tell their J-Term story!

Video Clips: Please share a short clip (or multiple!) that is 5-15 seconds highlighting your favorite J-Term memory or an exciting hands-on experience. Carthage student(s)/faculty should be featured in the clip. It doesn’t need to be fancy or edited — we’ll take care of that for you! We will compile the clips into a short-form social video to showcase the various experiences students had in January!

100-word ramble: Can you summarize your entire J-Term experience in exactly 100 words? This is a fun writing exercise in which students and faculty can describe a specific event or summarize the J-Term experience. The best 100-word ramblings will be published on the web.

Send videos and 100-word rambles to bridge@yilunjianshe.com with your name and class year/major or title. If the video file is large, upload it to Google Drive and share with it bridge@yilunjianshe.com.

NOTE: All photos received through the contest may be used in Carthage publications.
